Perfusion Medical Wins 2025 BioHealth Innovation Crab Trap Competition

Perfusion Medical was selected as the 2025 winner of BioHealth Innovation Capital Region’s Crab Trap competition.  Announced on September 24, the recognition comes from a highly competitive pool of nearly 70 applicants. As part of the award, Perfusion Medical received $10,000 from BioHealth Innovation and $25,000 in IT and cybersecurity services from InfoPathways.

Perfusion Medical earned this honor for its work on PM-208, a novel therapy designed to reestablish blood flow and oxygen delivery in critical care patients. PM-208 targets the “no re-flow phenomenon,” a complication that can occur following severe blood loss, ischemia, or acute kidney injury. Supported by more than $10 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, NIH, and private investors, Perfusion Medical is advancing toward clinical trials with the goal of transforming outcomes in trauma and intensive care medicine.
